1. Landscape Mode

iOS 27 adds landscape mode support to several built-in Apple apps, including Apple Music.

The new layout allows users to view album artwork alongside playback controls in horizontal orientation, while also displaying synchronized lyrics next to the album cover. Although the feature is expected to be optimized for the rumored iPhone Ultra, it will also be available on other supported iPhone models.

2. Enhanced AutoMix

Apple is expanding its AutoMix feature after introducing it in iOS 26.

According to Apple, the updated version delivers smoother and more dynamic transitions between songs, creating a more immersive listening experience.

The improved AutoMix feature will also be available on Apple Music for tvOS and HomePod, extending the experience across Apple's ecosystem.

3. Redesigned Artist Pages

Artist pages receive a refreshed interface inspired by the visual updates introduced for albums and playlists in iOS 26.4.

The new design includes:

• Full-screen colorful backgrounds

• More prominent featured music sections

• Easier access to playback controls

• Improved visual integration with artist artwork

4. Friends Playlist

Apple is expanding its Made for You collection with a new Friends Playlist.

The playlist lets users discover the songs their friends are currently listening to, with each track displaying which friend recently played it, making music discovery more social and personalized.

5. Extra-Large Widgets

For the first time, iOS 27 introduces extra-large Home Screen widgets, and Apple Music is among the first apps to support the new format.

Three new oversized widgets will be available:

• Recommendations

• Top Charts

Users can place these widgets on either the Home Screen or the Today View, providing quicker access to music and more customization options for their iPhone.
