Facebook and Messenger experienced a widespread service disruption that left thousands of users unable to access their accounts, with many being unexpectedly logged out while using the platforms.

Users in Egypt and several other countries reported receiving notifications stating that their sessions had expired, prompting them to log in again. However, many encountered difficulties restoring access through both mobile devices and desktop computers.

The outage also affected Messenger's chat services, with users reporting delays in sending and receiving messages, as well as intermittent service interruptions across multiple accounts.

Reports of the disruption quickly spread across outage-tracking platforms and online forums, as users expressed frustration over repeated error messages and login failures.

Meta has not yet released an official explanation regarding the cause of the outage or provided a timeline for a full service restoration. Observers believe the issue may be linked to the company's authentication and login systems, as the "session expired" message appeared for a large number of affected users.

Some users also reported receiving prompts to update the application or retry login attempts while trying to access Facebook services.

Users are now awaiting a full recovery of Facebook and Messenger, with expectations that the disruption could be resolved once any temporary technical issues affecting Meta's servers or authentication infrastructure are addressed.
