iPhone Air 2 Leaks Reveal Dual Cameras, 2nm Chip Ahead of Expected 2027 Launch
New leaks suggest Apple's upcoming iPhone Air 2 will feature a dual-camera system, a 2nm A20-series chip, and a 120Hz OLED display while maintaining its signature ultra-thin design.
Fresh leaks have revealed new details about Apple's upcoming iPhone Air 2, which is expected to become the second-generation model in the company's Air smartphone lineup. The device is rumored to feature significant improvements in photography and performance ahead of its anticipated launch in the spring of 2027 alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
Dual Rear Cameras Coming to the Air Series
Popular YouTuber Jon Prosser shared a series of design renders for the device on his Front Page Tech channel, claiming they are based on information from Apple's supply chain.
According to the leaked images, the iPhone Air 2 will address one of the biggest criticisms of the first-generation model by introducing a dual-camera system for the first time in the Air lineup.
The phone is expected to feature two 48-megapixel rear cameras, including a primary sensor and an ultra-wide camera, providing users with greater photographic flexibility compared to the original model, which featured only a single rear camera.
Redesigned Face ID to Preserve the Ultra-Thin Design
The leaks also suggest that Apple is redesigning the internal components of its Face ID system to free up additional internal space, allowing the company to integrate a second rear camera without compromising the slim profile that defines the Air series.
Apple is expected to retain the lightweight, ultra-thin design introduced with the first-generation Air model while continuing to use a titanium chassis.
New 2nm A20 Processor
On the performance side, the iPhone Air 2 is rumored to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 or A20 Pro processor, which is expected to be manufactured using an advanced 2-nanometer process.
The new chipset could deliver substantial improvements in both performance and power efficiency compared with current-generation Apple silicon. Earlier reports have suggested that Apple may specifically equip the device with the A20 Pro chip, bringing flagship-level performance to the ultra-thin smartphone.
120Hz LTPO OLED Display
The device is also expected to feature a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling, gaming, and video playback.
Regarding pricing, analysts at JPMorgan Chase expect Apple to increase the prices of its next-generation iPhones by at least $50, while other reports suggest that price hikes of up to $300 could apply to certain models.
Although Apple has yet to officially confirm any details about the iPhone 18 lineup or the second-generation iPhone Air, the latest leaks indicate that the company is planning to expand its product launch schedule by introducing its premium models first, followed by the standard iPhone and Air models during 2027.
