By the Numbers: Egypt’s Most Registered Chinese Car Brands
Chery emerged as Egypt’s best-selling Chinese automotive brand in May, registering 1,525 vehicles and narrowly surpassing Jetour by just 22 units. The shift pushed MG down to third place after leading the segment for the first four months of the year.
Chery claimed the top spot among Chinese car brands registered in Egypt during May, according to data from the Egyptian Compulsory Motor Insurance Pool. The brand recorded 1,525 newly licensed vehicles, edging out Jetour by a slim margin of 22 units.
Jetour ranked second with 1,503 vehicles, while MG slipped to third place after registering 1,122 units. MG had maintained leadership in the Chinese vehicle segment from the beginning of the year through April.
Elsewhere, Soueast secured fourth place with 938 vehicles, followed by Changan with 834. Geely ranked sixth with 508 registrations, ahead of BAIC, which recorded 372 units.
BYD came eighth with 299 vehicles, followed by Dongfeng with 226. GAC and DFSK shared tenth place with 216 vehicles each, while Kaiyi and Forthing registered 212 and 202 units respectively. Haval rounded out the rankings with 184 vehicles.
