LG Electronics is set to introduce its AI-powered Smart Cabin Platform at CES 2026, taking place in Las Vegas from January 6–9. The platform is powered by a high-performance computing (HPC) system featuring Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite processor, delivering advanced in-vehicle artificial intelligence capabilities.

On-Vehicle AI Computing Without the Cloud

The Smart Cabin Platform integrates a range of generative AI technologies, including Vision Language Models (VLMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and image generation models, directly into the vehicle's In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system.

According to LG, all AI processing is performed locally inside the vehicle without relying on external cloud servers. This approach enables faster response times, enhanced privacy, and reduced dependence on cloud computing.

Real-Time Environmental and Driver Analysis

The platform uses data from both interior and exterior cameras to analyze the vehicle's surroundings and monitor the driver's condition in real time.

For example, the system can detect when another vehicle is approaching the driver's lane and issue an immediate warning if it determines that the driver has not responded to the potential hazard.

Adaptive Infotainment Experience

LG says the platform dynamically adjusts the infotainment interface based on driving conditions and environmental factors. It can modify visual effects, recommend music, and personalize the user experience according to weather conditions, driving style, and contextual data.

Live Demonstration at CES 2026

The company will showcase the Smart Cabin Platform for the first time at its CES 2026 booth, where visitors will be able to experience a digital cockpit concept based on the AI-Defined Vehicle (AIDV) vision—an evolution of the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) concept.

Building on LG's Partnership with Qualcomm

LG and Qualcomm Technologies previously demonstrated their Cross Domain Controller platform at CES 2025, combining infotainment and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) into a single computing unit powered by the Snapdragon Ride™ Flex platform.

AI for Smarter Mobility

Ahn Seok-hyun, President of LG Vehicle Solution Company, said the company is working closely with partners to accelerate the adoption of AI-powered mobility technologies. He added that the Smart Cabin Platform is designed to create a more intelligent driving experience that adapts to drivers' preferences and needs.
