Subaru has announced that it will discontinue the gasoline-powered version of its Crosstrek beginning with the 2027 model year, making the hybrid variant the only powertrain available for its second best-selling model after the larger Forester.
The move marks another step in Subaru's electrification strategy, as the company shifts its focus toward more fuel-efficient vehicles without significantly increasing prices.

Subaru has also discontinued the gasoline-powered model, which previously started at $32,075.
More Power and Better Fuel Efficiency
The hybrid Crosstrek is powered by a 197-horsepower hybrid powertrain, delivering stronger performance while offering improved fuel economy compared with the outgoing gasoline model.
The entry-level hybrid version starts at $35,470, representing a price increase of approximately $3,395 over the discontinued gasoline variant.
