Nissan topped Egypt's automotive market across all vehicle categories—including passenger cars, buses, and trucks—during the first quarter of 2026, capturing an 18.4% market share with total sales of 9,053 vehicles, according to the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).

Chevrolet ranked second with a 14.2% market share after selling approximately 6,900 vehicles, followed by MG in third place with around 5,400 units sold, representing an 11.1% market share.

Chery (GB Auto) secured fourth place with a 9.4% share and approximately 4,600 vehicles sold, while Hyundai came fifth with a 7.3% market share after recording sales of roughly 3,500 units.

Toyota ranked sixth, accounting for a 6.3% market share with sales of around 3,100 vehicles, followed by BAIC in seventh place with approximately 2,500 units sold and a 5.2% market share.

Changan climbed to eighth place after selling nearly 1,700 vehicles, representing a 3.5% market share. Mitsubishi ranked ninth with about 1,100 vehicles sold and a 2.4% share, while King Long completed the top ten with approximately 1,100 vehicles, capturing a 2.3% market share.

Egypt's Auto Market Posts Strong Growth in Q1 2026

Egypt's automotive market recorded robust growth during the first quarter of 2026, with total vehicle sales increasing 56.26% year-over-year to 49,130 units, compared with 31,440 vehicles during the same period in 2025, according to AMIC.

Passenger vehicle sales rose 60% to 38,460 units, up from 24,110 vehicles a year earlier.

Bus sales posted an even stronger performance, surging 75.2% to 3,504 units, compared with approximately 2,000 buses during the corresponding period.

Truck sales also increased significantly, climbing 34.4% to 7,165 units, compared with 5,331 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025.
