Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has opened applications for the third edition of the African Youth AI and Robotics Presidential Competition, organized in partnership with the African Union Development Agency and Elevate AI Africa.

The competition targets young Africans aged 18 to 35, encouraging them to leverage artificial intelligence, robotics, and emerging technologies to develop innovative solutions for key development challenges across the continent.

This year’s edition features 12 focus areas, including healthcare, education, agriculture, mining, climate, fintech, cybersecurity, AI ethics, quantum computing, robotics design, and an open innovation category.

The competition’s top honor, the Presidential Award, will be presented to projects capable of delivering measurable and sustainable impact while supporting inclusive growth across Africa. Finalists will also receive international recognition during the AI for Good Global Summit, scheduled for July 2026.
