Egyptian entrepreneur Mostafa El-Wakeel, founder of BioBusiness and BioWadi, has announced the launch of Egypt’s first locally manufactured electrocardiogram (ECG) device and the country’s first fully locally produced medical stethoscopes, marking a significant milestone for the domestic medical technology industry.

El-Wakeel said the achievement follows months of research, development, and testing, highlighting BioWadi’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on imported medical equipment.

The company is expected to unveil full details of the project during a dedicated press conference on the sidelines of the Africa Health conference, where it will showcase the development process and technologies used in the devices’ production.

According to El-Wakeel, the launch represents an important step toward advancing Egypt’s healthcare manufacturing sector and reinforcing the country's position as a regional hub for medical innovation and technology.

He also invited healthcare professionals, industry stakeholders, and technology enthusiasts to attend the event and learn more about the locally developed products ahead of their official introduction to the market.
