Egypt's Hents Targets $800,000 Funding Round to Expand AI-Powered Credit Decision Platform
Hents plans to raise $800,000 to scale its AI-powered FastFin platform and accelerate expansion across Egypt and the Gulf region.
Egyptian fintech startup Hents is seeking to raise $800,000 in a new funding round to accelerate the development of its AI-powered FastFin platform, which automates credit assessment and lending decisions. The capital will also support the company's expansion across Egypt and the Gulf region.
AI-Powered Lending Automation
Speaking during the MINT by EGBANK program, Hussein Ahmed Gad, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hents, said Egypt's financial sector includes 36 banks alongside numerous non-banking financial institutions generating billions of Egyptian pounds in annual revenues, while demand for financing and credit products continues to grow.
He noted that many financial institutions still rely heavily on manual workflows and paperwork during credit evaluation, resulting in longer processing times, higher operating costs, and an increased risk of human error.
FastFin Automates the Entire Credit Journey
Hents has developed FastFin, an AI-driven platform that automates the entire credit evaluation process—from customer onboarding and product selection to data analysis, risk assessment, credit scoring, and final lending decisions.
The platform functions as an intelligent lending engine tailored for banks and non-bank financial institutions, replacing traditional manual underwriting processes with automated, AI-powered decision-making.
According to Gad, FastFin leverages advanced predictive models to analyze customer data, enabling lenders to reduce credit approval times from several days to just minutes while improving decision accuracy, lowering default rates, and minimizing manual intervention.
Pilot Programs Underway
The company said FastFin has already moved beyond the prototype stage and is now deployment-ready.
Hents is preparing to launch pilot projects with a local bank as well as several non-bank financial institutions to validate the platform in real-world lending environments.
Addressing an $850 Million Market Opportunity
Gad estimates that the addressable market across Egypt and the Gulf countries will exceed $850 million over the next three years, driven by the financial sector's accelerating digital transformation and growing demand for automated lending and risk management solutions.
Hents operates under a B2B Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, generating revenue through annual software subscriptions in addition to implementation and systems integration services for banks and financial institutions.
Expansion Plans
The startup plans to use the new funding to further enhance its AI technology, strengthen its predictive models, expand pilot deployments and integrations with financial institutions, and invest in marketing, business development, and team growth.
Hents aims to serve more than 100 institutional customers and generate approximately $6.5 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by the end of its fourth year of operations.
Founded in 2026, the company is led by four co-founders with more than 50 years of combined experience across artificial intelligence, banking, financial services, business development, and technology. The founding team includes Hussein Ahmed Gad (CEO), Islam Abdel Ghany (CTO), Ibrahim Helmy (Chief Business Officer), and Peter Naguib (Chief Operating Officer).
