Michael Youssef reveals the reason behind OneHealth’s rapid expansion in Egypt
OneHealth, part of AXA Group Egypt, says rising demand for integrated healthcare services and digital solutions has fueled its rapid expansion, enabling the company to serve more than 2,000 patients per day within four years.
Dr. Michael Youssef, CEO of OneHealth Clinics, part of the French AXA Group in Egypt, said the growing demand for high-quality, integrated healthcare services has been the key driver behind the company's rapid growth and expansion in the Egyptian market.
Speaking during the celebration marking 20 years of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Egypt, Youssef noted that the country's healthcare sector has traditionally been fragmented across clinics, hospitals, and diagnostic centers, creating a need for a more seamless patient experience.
Delivering a Complete Healthcare Journey
Youssef explained that OneHealth was established to provide patients with an integrated healthcare journey through a single provider. The model has gained strong acceptance in the Egyptian market, enabling the company to serve more than 2,000 patients daily within just four years of operation.
The company's network offers a wide range of services, including surgeries, outpatient care, and diagnostic services through facilities located across Egypt.
Digital Transformation at the Core
According to Youssef, OneHealth invested heavily in digital transformation from the outset, digitizing the entire patient journey.
The platform offers telemedicine consultations, virtual follow-ups, electronic medical records, online access to test results, and digital prescription and medication delivery services.
These investments have improved patient experience, expanded access to healthcare services, and increased operational efficiency.
Insurance and Healthcare Integration
Youssef highlighted the integration of insurance and healthcare services as one of OneHealth's main competitive advantages.
Through the model, patients can access insurance coverage, treatment, and preventive healthcare services within a single ecosystem, creating a smoother and more comprehensive healthcare experience.
He added that closer integration between healthcare providers and financing institutions is becoming a key pillar of modern healthcare systems.
Patient Experience Remains the Priority
The CEO emphasized that OneHealth places patient experience at the center of its strategy, focusing not only on medical quality but also on every aspect of the treatment journey.
This includes clinic and hospital design, digital services, and post-treatment patient follow-up, helping the company differentiate itself in Egypt's healthcare market.
Looking ahead, Youssef said the future of healthcare in Egypt will depend on deeper integration between insurance and healthcare services, alongside greater adoption of technology and digital solutions to improve quality, accessibility, and patient outcomes.
