Mohamed Abou El Naga, Board of Trustees member at Startup Egypt and a technology and artificial intelligence entrepreneur and investor, said the organization aims to build a comprehensive, non-profit ecosystem that brings together every stakeholder in Egypt’s entrepreneurial landscape through a single unified platform.

He explained that the initiative seeks to connect startup founders with investors, government entities, mentors, and business support organizations, creating a streamlined environment that makes it easier to launch and scale new ventures.

A Single Gateway for Entrepreneurs and Investors

According to Abou El Naga, one of Startup Egypt’s primary objectives is to simplify the journey for entrepreneurs and venture capital funds by providing a single point of contact for accessing official information, government services, and business support.

He noted that such a centralized platform can significantly reduce the time and effort founders typically spend navigating multiple institutions during the early stages of building a company.

"It Would Have Made a Huge Difference"

Reflecting on Egypt’s entrepreneurial ecosystem over the past decade and a half, Abou El Naga said the availability of Startup Egypt years ago could have transformed the startup experience.

"If Startup Egypt had existed 15 years ago, it would have made many things much easier for us. We needed a unified platform to communicate with all government entities and organizations supporting entrepreneurs and investment funds."

He added that the absence of a centralized support system had previously created unnecessary challenges for founders seeking guidance, funding, and official procedures.

AI-Powered Support and Specialized Accelerators

Abou El Naga said Startup Egypt is designed as an integrated ecosystem that connects entrepreneurs with mentors, investors, strategic partners, and industry experts.

Among its planned initiatives are:

• An AI-powered assistant that helps founders quickly access official information and government resources.

• Specialized startup accelerators focused on different sectors.

• A broad network of mentors and experts to support business growth.

• Stronger collaboration between startups, investors, and public institutions.

These services are intended to accelerate the development of Egyptian startups while improving access to reliable information and business opportunities.

Strengthening Egypt's Startup Ecosystem

According to Abou El Naga, Startup Egypt ultimately aims to foster closer cooperation between entrepreneurs, investors, government agencies, and support organizations.

By simplifying access to resources and strengthening collaboration across the ecosystem, the initiative seeks to help Egyptian startups grow faster, scale more effectively, and compete in both regional and international markets.
