The Sahal Tech Innovation Challenge (STIC 2026) has strengthened its position as one of Africa’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship platforms after attracting 336 innovative projects from 20 African countries, representing nearly 37% of the continent.
The initiative focuses on supporting technology-driven solutions across key sectors, including artificial intelligence, fintech, digital education, healthcare, smart agriculture, food security, and social innovation.
The program will conclude on August 22 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with the Sahal Tech Africa Tech Excellence Awards 2026, bringing together government officials, investors, business leaders, and representatives from major global technology companies.
The event will also mark the official launch of AFRINA Chat and TEKRE, two platforms designed to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen Africa’s innovation ecosystem. Organizers said STIC 2026 has evolved beyond a traditional competition into a continental platform that connects governments, investors, entrepreneurs, and the private sector to foster sustainable economic growth.
