Thunder Launches Digital Gold Investment in Egypt with 1% Fee and Entry from EGP 100
Thunder has launched its new digital gold investment product, allowing users in Egypt to buy and sell 24-karat gold starting from EGP 100 with a transparent 1% trading fee.
Egyptian investment platform Thunder has unveiled Thunder Gold, a new digital investment product that enables users to buy and sell 24-karat gold entirely online, with investments starting from just EGP 100.
The announcement was made during the company's Keynote event, where Thunder introduced its latest financial products and outlined its expansion strategy.
Investing in Gold Without Traditional Barriers
Ahmed El Qassed, Product Manager at Thunder, said the new service was designed to address common challenges faced by retail gold investors, including inconsistent pricing among gold dealers, high manufacturing premiums, storage concerns, and the need for significant upfront capital.
With Thunder Gold, users can monitor the official gold price in real time while benefiting from a transparent fee structure of 1% on purchases and 1% on sales, with no hidden charges.
Fully Digital Experience
The platform allows users to execute gold transactions directly through the Thunder app at any time, eliminating the need to visit jewelry stores.
Purchased gold is securely stored in insured vaults operated by EgyCash, a company affiliated with the Central Bank of Egypt, providing investors with additional security and convenience.
Sharia-Compliant Investment
Thunder confirmed that the digital gold product complies with Islamic Sharia principles and is supervised by a specialized Sharia committee, offering investors an ethical and transparent investment option.
Thunder Investments Exceed EGP 50 Billion
During the event, Thunder Founder and CEO Ahmed Hammouda revealed that total investments made by Egyptian users through the platform have surpassed EGP 50 billion.
He said the milestone reflects growing confidence among retail investors in both Thunder and Egypt's capital markets, emphasizing the company's commitment to transparency and continuous communication with its user base as the platform continues to expand.
