Uber Launches ‘Mashwarha’ Initiative to Expand Women’s Economic Opportunities in Egypt
Uber has launched the Mashwarha initiative in Egypt to empower women through skills development, financial education, and flexible income opportunities in partnership with Injaz Egypt.
Uber has announced the launch of Mashwarha, a long-term initiative designed to strengthen women's economic participation in Egypt by creating opportunities for learning, income generation, and personal growth.
As its first partnership under the initiative, Uber is collaborating with Injaz Egypt to deliver a structured training program for women driver-partners on the Uber platform, equipping them with practical skills to support both their personal and professional development.
Highlighting Women's Success Stories
The initiative was officially launched during a special event featuring a panel discussion moderated by renowned Egyptian actress and producer Esaad Younes.
The discussion focused on women's empowerment and showcased inspiring stories from Uber's women driver-partners, emphasizing the importance of supportive environments, access to opportunities, and continuous personal development in helping women achieve their ambitions.
Skills Development Program
During the first phase of the initiative, Uber and Injaz Egypt will deliver a structured training program for 60 women driver-partners from across Egypt.
The curriculum will focus on developing practical skills in:
Critical thinking
Problem-solving
Financial planning
Saving and investment
Goal setting
The program aims to strengthen participants' financial well-being while preparing them for future personal and professional opportunities.
Expanding Economic Opportunities Through Partnerships
Through strategic partnerships, skills development programs, and community initiatives, Mashwarha seeks to expand women's access to economic opportunities while supporting their long-term career aspirations.
The initiative reflects Uber's broader strategy of promoting financial inclusion and creating sustainable pathways for women's participation in Egypt's digital economy.
Long-Term Commitment to Women's Empowerment
Uber said the initiative builds on its ongoing commitment to the Egyptian market by expanding flexible income opportunities for women.
Designed as a long-term platform, Mashwarha will continue evolving through new partnerships and programs that support women's journeys in learning, earning, and professional growth.
"Mashwarha reflects our commitment to strengthening women's economic participation in Egypt by creating pathways that extend beyond mobility services," said Mohamed El Shamy, General Manager of Uber Egypt.
"Through our partnership with Injaz Egypt, we are investing in the development of our women driver-partners by providing practical skills that help them achieve their goals and unlock new opportunities."
Empowering Women Through Practical Education
Yasmine Wilson, Executive Director of Injaz Egypt, said the organization believes empowering women begins by providing them with the skills and confidence needed to succeed.
She added that the partnership with Uber reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities that enable women to learn, grow, and thrive through practical life and financial skills.
Supporting Inclusive Economic Growth
Women driver-partners play an increasingly important role in Egypt's mobility ecosystem by contributing to greater economic inclusion and expanding access to flexible income opportunities.
Through Mashwarha, Uber aims to build on that impact by supporting women not only through earning opportunities but also by investing in initiatives that promote learning, self-confidence, and long-term personal development.
Expanding the Initiative Across Egypt
The collaboration with Injaz Egypt marks the first phase of a broader effort to create additional learning and development pathways for women across the country.
Uber said it plans to expand the reach of Mashwarha through future partnerships and community initiatives, reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting women at every stage of their personal and professional journeys.
