Egypt's Cabinet Media Center has highlighted the success of WE Applied Technology Schools, describing them as the country's first government-run educational system dedicated to communications and information technology. The initiative forms part of Egypt's broader strategy to modernize technical education and prepare graduates with the digital skills required by local and global labor markets.

Through a series of infographics published on its official platforms, the center explained that the schools combine academic study with practical training, helping students develop the technical competencies needed to support the country's digital transformation.

Practical Education Focused on Future Jobs

Launched in 2020, the WE Applied Technology Schools network has expanded to 27 schools across Egypt's governorates.

The educational model is built around 60% practical training and 40% theoretical education, allowing students to gain real-world experience alongside classroom learning.

Students can specialize in five key disciplines:

• Telecommunications

• Web and Software Development

• Networks and Cybersecurity

• Digital Arts

• Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics

The three-year curriculum has been designed to keep pace with the rapid evolution of digital technologies and industry requirements.

Internationally Recognized Qualifications

According to the Cabinet Media Center, graduates receive the Technical Diploma for Applied Technology Schools (Technological Baccalaureate).

Outstanding students are also eligible for internationally accredited academic certificates, in addition to:

• A professional experience certificate from Telecom Egypt (WE)

• Professional certifications issued by leading ICT companies

Alongside technical subjects taught in English, students study core Ministry of Education subjects, including Arabic, English, Mathematics, Physics, Social Studies, Economics, and Physical Education.

The curriculum also incorporates personal development programs aimed at strengthening communication, leadership, and behavioral skills.

Admission Requirements and Career Opportunities

The schools provide students with access to advanced laboratories and workshops equipped with modern technologies, while offering internationally recognized curricula and certification opportunities for high achievers.

Graduates can pursue multiple academic and professional pathways, including enrollment in:

• Technological universities

• Faculties of Computers and Information

• Artificial Intelligence colleges (for students scoring 75% or higher after passing equivalency exams)

• Engineering faculties for eligible high-performing students

• Industrial education institutes and colleges

• Hold a preparatory school certificate

• Meet the minimum admission score announced by the Ministry of Education

• Be no older than 18 years old on October 1 of the academic year

• Pass medical examinations, aptitude tests, and a personal interview
